Founded by Henry Mayers in 1948; Henry Mayers started his career as a printer, a cartoonist and later created Davis Elen Advertising.

The advertising agency was first named "Davis, Johnson", "Mogul & Colombatto", "Davis Ball & Colombatto", and into what is today, Davis Elen Advertising. [1]

Controversy

For a promotional stunt for Zynga for a new game called "Mafia Wars" - Davis Elen Advertising placed stickers resembling money on sidewalks in high traffic areas of San Fransisco. Deputy City Attorney Alex Tse called the campaign "illegal and actionable." The city fined Davis Elen Advertising as well cited negligence on the agency's part. [2]
