Political life
He was elected as the Mayor of City of Flint in 1923 for a single 1 year term[2] defeating the incumbent mayor, William H. McKeighan.[1]
Recall Election 1924 Results
A recall effort was mounted by people opposed to his appointment of a Catholic Police Chief, James P. Cole, which including the Ku Klux Klan. The 1924 election was successful in removing Cuthbertson.[3]
Yes No Total 8,304 5,977 14,281 58% 42% 100% Cuthbertson indicated that he would run in the replacement election.[4]
