David John Mordaunt (born 24 August 1937) is a former English cricketer. Mordaunt was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium-fast.

In 1958, Mordaunt made his first-class debut for Sussex in the against Oxford University.[1] From 1958 to 1960, Mordaunt played 19 first-class matches for Sussex, with his final match for the county coming against Gloucestershire in the 1960 County Championship. In his 19 matches for Sussex, he scored 586 runs at a batting average of 24.41, with 5 half centuries and high score of 96.[2] With the ball he took 19 wickets at a bowling average of 28.89, with a single five wicket haul which gave him career best figures of 5/42.[3]

After leaving Sussex at the end of the 1960 season, Mordaunt did not appear in any county cricket matches until 1964, when he joined Berkshire. It was also in 1964 that Mordaunt played his final first-class match, for the Marylebone Cricket Club against Ireland, scoring 13 runs.[4] Mordaunt's Minor Counties Championship debut for Berkshire came against Devon. From 1964 to 1974, he played 40 Minor Counties Championship matches for Berkshire.[5]

Mordaunt made his List-A debut for Berkshire against Somerset in the 1st round of the 1965 Gillette Cup.[6] Mordaunt played 3 further one-day matches for the county, against Hertfordshire in the 1st round of the 1966 Gillette Cup, against Gloucestershire in the 2nd round of the same tournament. During the match against Gloucestershire and finally against Hertfordshire in the 1976 Gillette Cup. In his 4 one-day matches for Berkshire, he scored 144 runs at an average of 36.00, with 2 half centuries and a high score 60.[7] With the ball he took 3 wickets at an average of 44.00, with best figures of 3/24.[8]

Mordaunt's grandfather, Gerald Mordaunt and his great-grandfather, John Mordaunt both played first-class cricket.
