Biography
Goodman was born in 1846 in Paxton, Massachusetts and served in Company L, 8th U.S. Cavalry when the unit was sent to quell an Indian uprising in Wounded Knee, South Dakota. He was cited for "Bravery in action" and received the Medal of Honor for his participation in the battle.
