Heteropoda davidbowie is a species of spider of the Heteropoda genus. It was discovered in Malaysia by Peter Jäger and named after singer David Bowie to raise awareness of his discoveries and that many of these species are endangered.[1] The spider is described as being large, yellow and hairy.
