Production
Production began in December 2010. Stockwell chose Berry to play Kate as he believed the character should be black. He also disagreed with the choice of Brown to play Brady, as he believed that he should be played by an American actor, but he later announced that he was accepting Brown for his ability to put on a strong American accent. Most of the filming takes place in the Pacific Ocean, althought the scenes where the characters are on land are taking place on the Cape Town, South Africa, and some scenes have been shot in Memphis, Tennessee. The film was to be released on the 17 July 2011, but had to be postponed due to scheduling problems, and it will now be released on the 3 August 2011. The soundtrack is written and performed by Mark Sayfritz.[1][2][3]
