Dankook Middle School is a middle school located in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It is a private school attached to Dankook University. It was first founded on December 26, 1983. The school motto is “to know myself and study while working”. The school tree is the zelkova tree, the school flower is the royal azalea, and the school mascot is the bear.

Student exchange

In spring, around 40 students from Buensan Middle School come to Dankook Middle School, while in the fall around 40 Dankook students go to Buensan middle school for two days.

School Symbol

The school symbol has red, blue, black, and white around the yellow Chinese letter for “middle”. Red represents a phoenix; blue, a blue dragon; white, a white tiger; and black, a turtle. The yellow in the middle represents the yellow dragon: a symbol for the school’s students, while the Chinese character means that Dankook students should be at the center of the world.
