Daniel De Oliveira

Daniel De Oliveira is a retired Venezuelan football (soccer) midfielder who coached the Venezuelan U-15 and U-17 national soccer teams. He is the Technical Director for the Deportivo Petare.

Player

De Oliveira attended Long Island University where he played on the men's soccer team from 1987 to 1990. In 1987, Soccer America named him to its All Freshman Team. He finished his collegiate career with 35 goals.[1] He then played five seasons with teams in Venezuela, Spain and El Salvador.[2] He was with C.D. Luis Ángel Firpo of the El Salvadoran Primera División de Fútbol Profesional in 1995–1996. In February 1996, D.C. United selected De Oliveira in the 12th round (120th overall) of the 1996 MLS Inaugural Player Draft. De Oliveira signed with United, but was waived on April 16, 1996 during a pre-season roster reduction.[3] On August 5, 1997, the Staten Island Vipers of USISL signed De Oliveira.[4] All-Time leading scorer (576 goals) and five-times champions of the Eastern. Intercollegiate League of Venezuela while student of Claret High school.

De Oliveira has coached the Venezuelan U-15 and U-17 national soccer teams since 2007. He is an official FIFA coaching instructor for South America and the Caribbean. Daniel is also one of the most important coaches in Venezuela since He has promoted players like Josmar Zambrano (Tenerife in Spain), Bernardo Anor (MLS Columbus Crew), Fernando Aristeguieta, Eduardo Lima, Francisco Aristeguieta, Joseff Martinez, Alexander Gonzalez, Carlos Rivero, among others. He also took the U-15 Venezuelan National team to obtain a group 2nd place tied with Uruguay, becoming the best Venezuelan youth team performance in a Conmebol U-15 tournament. Daniel has been certified by the Royal Netherland Football Federation in match analysis, and holds the United State Soccer federation A coaching License since 2003. Among his tutors, Daniel had Mariano Moreno (Spain), Richard Paez (Venezuela), Alfonso Mondelo, Mike Jeffries, Bruce Arena, Bob Bradley (USA), Ignacio Prieto (Chile), Celso De Oliveira, Alcir Portella, Joel Santana (Brazil), Aaron Winter, Ruud Dokter, Wim Koevermans, Job Dragtsma (Netherland), Arnold Ramirez (Costa Rica), Kiril Dojcinovski (Macedonia) among others.
