It was released on February 11, 1997 through Jive Records and was entirely hip hop. The album did pretty well on the charts, peaking at #20 on the Billboard 200 and #3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and spawned a single "The World Is Mine" by the films star, Ice Cube. "The World Is Mine" made it to #55 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks and #39 on the Hot Rap Singles.
