(2006)Marcella Detroit's next album was 2001's "Dancing Madly Sideways," which was sold through her website.
This is her first complete CD since 1996's Feeler. And she does not disappoint. Between releases, she did release her Demoz CD, which features some of these songs in their infancy, as well as the Abfab Songs CD. But here she is able to assemble a tight band and produce a brilliant, angry, aggressive, exciting dance/rock album. Detroit's vocals are strong, as is her outstanding guitar playing. Fast, tasteful, and tuneful solos complete the mix and contribute to the originality of the music. Highlights include the title track, "Lust for Like," and the stunning "Built for Speed." Fans will love this great CD, and it may convert new listeners to Detroit.
