Daher is a clan found in the Punjab, Pakistan. Some Daher consider themselves to be Jat, while others identify themselves are Rajputs.
History and origin
They claim descent from Raja Rawan, ruler of Mirpur Mathelo in Ghotki District, who was converted to Islam by the famous Sufi saint Sayyid Jalal and was by him named "Amir al Dahar" or ruler of age.[1] Once the rulers of part of Sindh, the Dahar power decreased in the time of Langah supremacy. In time of the Mughal Emperor Akbar they were addressed merely as zamindar, although during Abbasi rule, they were given noble status in the Bahawalpur state. The Daher are closely connected with the Gilani Makhdums of Multan, through close marital ties.
Distribution
The Daher are found in Bahwalpur, Multan, Jhang, Chowk Azam in Muzaffargarh District, in Pindi Bhattian, Chak No.132 JB and Barkhurdar in Chiniot and Sargodha. a Village in Pakistan near Pasrur Daher Peer Muhammed
