Gill, 1863Dactylagnus mundus, known commonly as the giant sand stargazer in the Galapagos Islands, or simply the giant stargazer in Mexico,[1] is a species of sand stargazer in the genus Dactylagnus.[2] It is a tropical blenny found in the eastern central Pacific Ocean.[2] It was named by Gill in 1863,[3] and measures a minimum of 7 centimetres at maturity, reaching a maximum length of 15 centimetres.[2] Blennies of this species generally swim at a 5 metre depth, but can swim as deep as 15 metres.[2] Dactylagnus mundus is minorly commercial in fisheries.[2]
