History
The company was founded in 1856 by Diedrich Leonardt to manufacture dip pens.
Leonardt had a large export market in South America, Eastern Europe and produced pens for the King of Italy. The manufactured pens were of high quality and included their famous patent ball pointed pens.[3]
The company began to manufacture metal corners in 1970 and has been producing them since. It is the world's leading supplier of quality corners for diaries and supplies a wide range of metal corners in many shapes and sizes for a wide variety of products.[2]
While more of the manufacturers that had established in Birmingham during the 19th century closed their factories[1], Leonardt still makes dip pens and penholders nowadays, offering them in a wide range of models, mainly for calligraphy and drawing purposes.
