History
CyWee is a privately-held company funded in 2007 by SB China Venture Capital[3] and Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). Based on research at ITRI that started in 2003, CyWee holds 27 key patents associated with motion-sensing. CyWee’s partners include HP[4], Fujitsu[5], Acer[6], Marvell, China Unicom[7], and China Telecom[8].
Technology
CyWee has combined accelerometer, gyroscopic, and magnetic sensors with proprietary, patented motion-sensing algorithms/filters to create the world’s first 9-axis sensor solution. The CyWee Motion Module can track motion with absolute position, sense depth in 3-dimensional space and is suited for location-based, gaming, and gesture recognition appliactions. The CyWee software mapping tool allows developers and users to convert and assign gestures to a corresponding series of keyboard, mouse, and joystick commands. With the mapping tool, any game or application can be quickly transformed into a program that can be interacted with gestures from a CyWee enabled motion device.
Products
CyWee products are geared towards the communication and home entertainment market. These products include motion sensing devices, multimedia streaming devices, motion sensing modules, and mobile devices capable of streaming HD content to the TV. The CyWee Z Wireless 3D controller, a highly precise and responsive wireless controller allows PC gamers to play their favorite sports and action games [9]. The CyWee X Wireless Gateway is the first product to wirelessly stream full high definition (1080p) content in real-time from a PC to a HDTV.
