Crocodile (West) River Country South Africa Region Gauteng, North West and Limpopo Provinces Crocodile River (West), has its source in the Witwatersrand mountain range, originates in Constantia Kloof, Roodepoort, Gauteng province, South Africa. The first dam it encounters is a private dam known as the Heia Safari Ranch Dam just west of the Lanseria Airport. Just north of this airport the Jukskei River joins its forces. It than crosses into the North West, further downstream there are two large dams in this river, namely Hartbeespoort Dam and Roodekoppies Dam. Just past the Hartbeespoort Dam it passes the town of Brits, a bit further It runs into the Roodekoppies Dam. The Elands River joins its forces after it left the Vaalkop Dam, about 20 km further the Pienaars River joins its forces, just after it left the Klipvoor Dam, It than crosses into the Limpopo province, about 35 km further it passes the town of Thabazimbi, and furthering its course through Limpopo , before joining the Marico River, to form the start of the Limpopo River. Its tributaries include Bloubankspruit, Hennops River, Jukskei River, Magalies River and Sterkstroom River.
