Medal record Women's Athletics Competitor for Romania Olympic Games Bronze 1984 Los Angeles 400 m hurdles Cristieana Cojocaru (born January 2, 1962) is a retired athlete from Romania.
At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles she won a bronze medal in 400 metres hurdles behind Nawal El Moutawakel (gold) and Judi Brown (silver). She became national champion in this event in 1982, 1983 and 1984; in 1983 also in 400 metres.
In addition she won bronze medals over 800 metres at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg 1984 and Athens 1985 as well as a silver medal in Madrid 1986 (under her married name Cristieana Matei). She also won this distance at the 1985 IAAF World Indoor Championships.
