Judith ("Judi") Lynne Brown-King (born
July 14 ,1961 ) is an American athlete who competed mainly in the 400 metre Hurdles.She competed for the United States at the
1984 Summer Olympics held inLos Angeles , U.S. where she won the silver medal in the women's 400 metre hurdles event.In addition, Brown was a three time gold medalist at the
Pan American Games , and was a twelve time Big Ten Champion intrack and field events. In 1987, she was selected "Sportsman of the year" bySports Illustrated for her community involvement.Brown holds two degrees from
Michigan State University , a Bachelor degree in Audiology & Speech Science, and a Master degree in Education. She also completed her doctoral dissertation for her Ph.D. in Public Administration and Public Policy fromWestern Michigan University , from which she graduated with honors. She also is a member of the MichiganEven Start Statewide Family Literacy Consortium .
