The Cradle of Forestry in America is a 6,500 acre Historic Site within the Pisgah National Forest in Transylvania County, North Carolina. The site includes the Forest Discovery Center, which features exhibits and a movie about forestry and forest conservation history, a gift shop and cafe. There are two guided trails that include several of the Biltmore Forest School buildings, a logging locomotive and a portable sawmill.
The Center offers special programs, crafts demonstrations, nature education programs and special events.
