Cowie Dome

Cowie Dome (86°25′S 152°0′W / 86.417°S 152°W / -86.417; -152) is a dome-shaped summit at the east side of Bartlett Glacier, located 2 nautical miles (3.7 km) directly west of Lee Peak in the Queen Maud Mountains. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-64. Named by New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee (NZ-APC) for George Donald (Don) Cowie, leader of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (NZGSAE) which visited the region in 1969-70.
