Couzens Saddle

Couzens Saddle (80°31′S 159°35′E / 80.517°S 159.583°E / -80.517; 159.583) is a saddle rising to approximately 500 m, between Miscast Nunataks and Mount Madison at west and east, and Byrd Glacier and Couzens Bay at north and south. Named at the suggestion of the US ACAN, in association with Couzens Bay, which was named by the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (NZGSAE) (1960–61) in honor of Lieutenant Thomas Couzens, RNZAF, who lost his life in a crevasse accident near Cape Selborne on 19 November 1959.
