Coupons.com

Coupons.com was founded in 1998[1] and is a privately-held firm based in Mountain View, CA.

Coupons.com Incorporated has digital coupons, including online printable, social, mobile and loyalty card promotions. For decades, the Sunday newspaper has been the dominant distribution method for coupons, but as the reach of the newspaper declines and a growing number of consumers are online, more and more consumers and brands alike are looking to digital.[citation needed] Today, Coupons.com and its digital coupons network is a large provider of digital coupons.

The founder's story

Steven Boal founded Coupons.com Incorporated in 1998 shortly after seeing his father-in-law descend the stairs early on a Sunday morning, trudge out the front door to get the newspaper and then camp out at his kitchen table where he sat clipping coupons over morning coffee. Intrigued, Steven knew there had to be a better way. Today, Coupons.com is a leader in digital coupons, helping millions of consumers every month print (or save to loyalty card) more than a billion dollars in savings in 2010. [2]

Products

Coupons.com provides digital coupon programs – including online printable and mobile coupons – for brand marketers and retailers.

For consumers, the company’s products include Coupons.com, the 43rd largest Web property and No. 1 in the Coupons/Rewards category in the U.S. (Nielsen, April 2011) as well as Grocery iQ and Coupons.com mobile applications. Over 1 billion coupons have been printed from the site, and Coupons.com was named #24 in Silicon Alley Insider's Top 100 Start Ups. [3] [4]

For brand marketers, the company distributes digital coupons to millions of consumers through Coupons.com and thousands of Web sites comprising the Coupons.com digital coupon network. The company also powers digital coupon initiatives in 1-to-1 online marketing campaigns—including display advertising, email and social media programs.

For publishers, the company offers solutions to monetize Web site traffic, including branded microsites, and Brandcaster, a self-service coupons syndication platform.

Clients include hundreds of top consumer packaged goods brands (including Clorox, General Mills, Johnson & Johnson, Kellogg’s, Kimberly-Clark, and Kraft Foods), leading restaurant, toy and entertainment companies, as well as top retailers (such as A&P, CVS, Duane Reade, H-E-B, Kmart, Kroger, Safeway, ShopRite and Walgreens). [5]

In November, 2010, Yahoo announced that it was including coupons.com offers in its new local deals offering.[6]
