History

During the late 1950's Wichita needed a place to go for all kinds of entertainment including concerts, dances and rental space for private functions.[5] Built in 1960, The Cotillion is a 28,500-square-foot (2,650 m2) building with a maximum concert capacity of 2000 persons.[6] The circular design of the building has large wooden beams supporting a 24-foot (7.3 m) high domed ceiling over an 11,000-square-foot (1,000 m2) floating hardwood maple dance floor and a stage that features a neon lit band shell.[7]
