Intrust Bank Arena (known as Sedgwick County Arena during early planning stages) is a 15,000-seat multi-purpose
arena inWichita, Kansas currently under construction. It should be completed in January 2010. Once completed, it will be home to theWichita Thunder ice hockey team and possibly a potential reincarnation of theWichita Stealth arena football team. It is also expected that there will be a push by Wichita officials to lure theUniversity of Kansas andKansas State University , two of the state's three Division I basketball programs, to play one home game each year in the state's largest city.The arena is budgeted to cost $185 million and is financed by a temporary, $.01 increase in the county
sales tax . The increase, which expired after 30 months in December 2007, was approved by voters 52% to 48% in November 2004.According to The Wichita Eagle (October 12, 2006), the arena will seat 15,000.

January 10 ,2008 , the city announced it had reached a 25-year, $8.75 million naming rights deal deal withIntrust Bank , which complements a 20-year, $3 million deal with Cessna Aircraft Company to name an adjacent outdoor plaza, and a councourse area deal withSpirit AeroSystems .
