In Ancient time Messinia(Greek: Αρχαία Μεσσηνία) was a district in the south-western part of the Peloponnese with a history spanning 4,500 years. Today, it is one of Greece’s peripheral units. According to the US edition of National Geographic Traveler Magazine, "Messinia is among the 20 best destinations of 2011".[1] Costa Navarino is the flagship development of TEMES S.A[2] a premier developer of luxury mixed-use resorts, based in Greece.

Costa Navarino comprises a number of distinct sites featuring 5-star deluxe hotels, luxury residences, conference facilities, spa and thalassotherapy centers, signature golf courses, as well as a wide range of year-round activities for adults and children.[3][4]
Navarino Dunes is home to The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort and The Westin Resort Costa Navarino both operated by Starwood hotels and resorts worldwide[5] Navarino Dunes extends over 1340 hectares(13 400 000 m²)on a gently sloping hillside stretching along a 1 km-long sandy beach,overlooking the Ionian Sea.[6] In 2011,The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort was the winner of Condé Nast Traveller's Readers' Travel Awards in Europe, Asia Minor & the Russian Federation.[7][8][9] The award came after Navarino Dunes was included in the US edition of Condé Nast Traveler Hot List, with The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort[10][11] As well as, in the UK edition of Condé Nast Traveller and in Travel + Leisure[12][13]
The Romanos 321 rooms and suites ranging from 43m² to 192m² with private infinity pools in almost all ground-floor units, as well as the magnificent 660m² Royal Villa Koroni which received the award for "Best Suite, Interior Design of the Year" at the European Hotel Design Awards 2010[14] The same year 2010 The UK newspapper "The Sunday Times" amidst The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort in Europe’s Top 20 new hotels.[15]
The Westin Resort has 445 deluxe rooms, family rooms and suites, ranging from 40m² to 80m², along with the grand 625m² Royal Villa Methoni, offers uninterrupted views, primarily of the sea, and spacious terraces or balconies with lounge areas, while most ground-floor units have private infinity pools.[16]
Costa Navarino has two signature golf courses, The Dunes Course located at Navarino Dunes and The Bay Course located at Navarino Bay.
The Dunes Course
Open since May 2010, the impressive seaside Dunes Course is the first signature golf course in Greece, designed by former US Masters Champion and Ryder Cup Captain Bernhard Langer in association with European Golf Design. Much of the course has been crafted to reflect the rugged outlines of the distant mountains. As you move further inland, the course evolves, its character softening to fit with the surroundings of olive and citrus groves. In season, players will be welcome to sample the ripe fruit from the trees around the course at their leisure.[17][18][19] Troon Golf, the world's leading luxury-brand golf management company, operates The Dunes Course.[20][21] The Dunes Course is one of the top fifty Courses of Continental Europe in 2011 according to Golf Monthly UK and among The Word’s Most Exciting New Courses according to Golf World UK
The Bay Course
Part of Navarino Bay and Scheduled to open autumn of 2011 is, the 18-hole seaside Bay Course at Navarino Bay, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, which promises to be both a fun experience and a challenging test for golfers of all levels. Troon Golf, will also operate The Bay Course.[22]
Anazoe Spa
The 4,000m² Anazoe Spa offers treatments based on ancient Greek practices utilizing the area's exclusive natural and revitalizing ingredients, as well as products from around the globe. Treatments are based on ancient local practices inscribed on clay tablets discovered at the nearby Palace of Nestor and are unique in the world.[23]
Sports Activities
Outdoor options include hiking, biking, mountaineering, racquet and water-related sports. Indoor options at the cutting-edge sports center include bowling, squash and basketball, plus meditation and workout classes.[24]
Children Facilities
Infants in Navarino Dunes may attend the Cocoon care center and young guests (5–12 years old) can enjoy the SandCastle, a specially designed youth hub offering recreational/educational activities and stay over night options. Also an aqua park is available.[25]
Future Developments
The 140-hectare (1 400 000 m²) Navarino Bay site, the first earth-sheltered mixed-use resort in Europe, which is expected to welcome visitors in the near future, stretches along a 2 km seafront with view of the Bay of Navarino.[26] Also includes the 18-hole signature Bay Course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, Scheduled to open autumn of 2011
With a 1 km sandy beach, Navarino Blue is located in the Gulf of Messinia, just a 10-minute drive from Kalamata International Airport. This secluded resort, to be completed in the second phase of development, will offer 5-star deluxe hotels along with sports and leisure facilities.[27]
Located near the village of Kynigos, Navarino Hills wil be completed in the second phase of development and be a true eco deluxe site, offering views of the town of Pylos, Navarino Dunes, Navarino Bay and Sfaktiria Island.[28]
Environmental responsibility
Costa Navarino adheres to strict environmental protection guidelines and management principles throughout all the development stages, from construction to operation. Its environmental management system covers all aspects of environmental protection by applying sustainable water and energy management practices, integrated solid & liquid waste management with an extensive recycling program and a number of environmental programs for the preservation of biodiversity and the protection of ecologically important habitats in the vicinity.[29]
