Career
Cory and his brother Shea began participating in surfing contests in their native Florida from an early age and at 15 years of age Cory made his debut in the Association of Surfing Professionals' (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS). In 1997, he made the leap to the ASP World Tour and in 2001 reached the final in the world-renowned surfing location of Teahupoo in Tahiti, overtaking C.J. Hobgood. That year he finished 3rd overall in the tour, the highest ranking of his career to date.[1][2]
