The Corner Conference has a history of being a very stable conference. In its early years, the conference was made up of Essex, Farragut, Hamburg, South Page, Fremont-Mills, Sidney, Stanton, Malvern, Hastings, and New Market. When the Tall Corn Conference folded, the league picked up Bedford and Villisca as well. New Market closed its high school in the 1980s, leaving the conference with eleven teams. Bedford then left the conference in 2000 for the Pride of Iowa Conference. Clarinda Academy joined in 2004-05. In 2007, Malvern merged districts with Nishna Valley of Hastings to become East Mills. Starting in 2010, Farragut and Hamburg have also begun sharing some sports under the Nishnabotna moniker and have had discussions with Sidney to eventually form a three school sharing agreement.
