Type Web browser extension License GPL CookieSafe is a free, open source, and cross-platform web browser extension. It is available for all Mozilla based web browsers, but is only officially supported in Firefox. The CookieSafe extension facilitates cookie permission control. The extension can be accessed from the statusbar or a toolbar button. By clicking on the CookieSafe icon, users can allow, block, or temporarily allow the site to set cookies. They can also view or clear the cookies and exceptions by right clicking on the icon. For safer browsing they may choose to deny cookies globally and then enable them on a per site basis.

Current status
However, in 2009, the developer apparently decided to stop work on all his Mozilla extensions - for reasons not made public.
The programs support website is no longer available.
In a thread on Mozillazine - http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=907445 - it is stated: "The developer is taking a break from CS Lite and CookieSafe support."
History
On May 4, 2006, the first version (0.8) of CookieSafe was released.
The most recent - seemingly final - versions of CookieSafe (3.0.5) and CS Lite (1.4) were released simultaneously on January 27, 2009References
