Leader head

Leader head

A leader head is a device[clarification needed] used in roof plumbing to capture stormwater runoff from the rain guttering of a building.[1] While, generally speaking, such a device is known as either a leader head or a conductor[2] head within the fields of architecture, building design[3] and construction, it may be known as a rainhead in some regions of the world.[citation needed]

Leader heads are commonly made from sheet metal in the form of a box of varying shape and size which is open at the top and has one or more outlets to which downpipes are attached. Where they are used to collect water from a scupper they may be known as a conductor head[4][5].

Leader heads are often used as architectural features on a building.
