Comstock High School
Comstock High School is a secondary school within the Comstock Public School District located in Comstock Charter Township near the city of Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States.
Comstock High School primarily serves the western half of Comstock Township, as well as portions of Kalamazoo Township, Pavilion Township, City of Portage, and the City of Kalamazoo.
Enrollment at Comstock High School is aproximatly 750 students (2,500 students district wide). Comstock High School is a school of choice that accepts students from neighboring districts, and was named one of Americas best high schools by the US News and World Report in 2010.[1]
History
Comstock High School was constructed in 1966, replacing the original high school that was built in 1921. Since its construction, the current high school campus has seen improvements over the years including the construction of a 750 seat auditorium in 1992, and a new 3,200 seat football\soccer stadium in 2007. In 2005, voters rejected a 26 year bond proposal to construct a new high school on the site of the current one, opting instead to renovate the current building.[2]
Academics
Comstock High School is a college preparatory school that provides students with a rigorious 4 years intended to prepare students for a post secondary education. Students are encourage to enroll in the many Advanced Placement courses offered or to dual enroll at Kalamazoo Valley Community College or Western Michigan University to earn college credits prior to graduating high school.
Students that find the advanced courses at Comstock High School too difficult can enroll at its sister high school Comstock Compass High School which is intended to provide students facing unique challenges an opportunity to complete high school.Comstock High School meets Adequate Yearly Progress[3]

Comstock High School benefits from an active Athletics Booster Club that generates money for the purchase of uniforms, equipment, and other athletic facility improvements. Former athletes, teams, coaches, and other contributors to Comstock Athletics are recognized by the Comstock High School Athletics Hall of Fame which was estabished in 2010.
