For the Australian motor racing competition, see Commodore Cup.
The Commodores' Cup also known as the Rolex Commodores' Cup is an international offshore regatta held for three-boat national teams held in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. It is a biennial event that lasts for seven days. It was first held in 1992, with the next event occurring in 2010.[1] It is organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club. The competition is designed to test the teams over a variety of inshore and offshore courses. Currently, there are strict rules in place with the requirement that at least 50% of the crew from each team are from the nation represented. There are also limitations on the number of professionals allowed to take part. The part these professionals play in the team is also restricted, with amateurs having to helm throughout the inshore races and the start of the offshore races.[2]
