34th Aviation Brigade (United States)

The Combat Aviation Brigade, 34th Infantry Division is a unit of the Minnesota Army National Guard.

The 34th Combat Aviation Brigade (34th CAB) is an Army National Guard Brigade that supports the 34th Infantry Division and the State of Minnesota by providing aviation assets for both federal and state active duty missions. The aviators of the 34th CAB fly the AH-64 Apache, UH-60 Black Hawk and CH-47 Chinook helicopters. The 34th CAB Headquarters is stationed in St. Paul.[1]

While under state control, the brigade consists of the following aviation elements:[1]

  • 2nd Battalion, 147th Assault Helicopter Battalion
  • 834th Aviation Support Battalion
  • B and C Co, 2nd Battalion, 211th General Support Aviation Battalion
  • G Co 147th Air Traffic Services.

The brigade also controls the following additional units:

  • 1–113th Surveillance and Security Aviation Battalion (ND NG)
  • 1–183rd Attack Helicopter Battalion (ID NG)
  • 1–189th General Support Aviation Battalion (MT NG)
