Bill Bourne

Bill Bourne (born William Sigurd Bourne, March 28, 1954, in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada) is a Canadian musician and songwriter, who frequently collaborates with a variety of artists, including Alan MacLeod, Lester Quitzau, Madagascar Slim, Aysha Wills, and Eivør Pálsdóttir.

Raised in a musical family in rural Alberta, Bill's musical education began at 2 years of age when he would sleep behind the piano at country dances where his parent's band would perform. A multiple Canadian Juno Award nominee and winner, Bill's music is diverse and unclassifiable, and is rich with many traditional music elements from around the world. He plays guitar and sings with a deep and soulful sound; his songs convey stories that are poetic and life affirming. The dance rhythms of his early childhood permeate his musical melange.

He currently resides in Edmonton, Alberta.
