Pogonolobus is a genus of flowering plants in the family Rubiaceae. The genus is monotypic, being represented by the single species Pogonolobus reticulatus (formerly known as Coelospermum reticulatum or Caelospermum reticulatum). It is endemic to eastern and northern Meganesia. The genus is closely related to the genera Coelospermum, Gynochthodes, Morinda, Sarcopygme and Syphonandrium. Morinda is especially closely related, and is likely to comprise a paraphyletic genus that encompasses Pogonolobus. Its natural habitat is dry rainforest and moister types of Eucalypt woodland. The plant is an important source of dye for Aboriginal people.^[1]
