Creo Elements/Direct is computer-aided design (CAD) and product data management (PDM) software.

Creo Elements/Direct[1] products, 2D CAD[2] , 3D CAD[3], and PDM[4] were first developed by the Hewlett-Packard (HP) Mechanical Design Division (MDD) in the mid-80s and early-'90s. During this time, Creo Elements/Direct pioneered the "dynamic modeling" approach (today called direct modeling[5] for 3D design. In 1997, CoCreate became a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard and then in 2000 became an independent privately held company, owned by private equity investors.

On December 3, 2007, Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) acquired CoCreate[6] (CoCreate Software GmbH) for approximately $250 million. As a part of PTC, Creo Elements/Direct products continue to be enhanced, and further developed as an integral product family for the PTC Product Development System[7]. The Creo Elements/Direct product family is direct CAD, PDM and collaboration software. The Creo Elements/Direct product family offers integrations to Windchill[8], Mathcad[9], Abortext[10], and Creo Elements/Pro[11].

The Creo Elements/Direct product family is developed in two PTC locations:
