Climber magazine is a British magazine dedicated to all aspects of rock climbing and mountaineering; trad climbing, sport climbing, bouldering, alpine climbing, winter and ice climbing and expeditions.
Climber magazine is published monthly and the Editor, Andy McCue, is an avid climber and experienced journalist of more than a decade. The ISSN is 1358-5207. Climber has been published since 1961; the present circulation is approximately 15,000. It is indexed in SportDiscuss. Before 1955 it was known successively as : Climber and Hillwalker (0955-3045); and Climber and Rambler (0009-8973); contributors to the magazine include professional climber Tim Emmett, climbing coach and training expert Neil Gresham, mountain guide and instructor Libby Peter, award winning mountain literature author and former rock climbing hell-raiser Jim Perrin, IFMGA mountain guides Bruce Goodlad and Julie-Ann Clyma, climber and writer John Horscroft, former British climbing champion Anne Arran, professional photographers and writers Tim Glasby, Mike Robertson, Ray Wood, Mark Glaister and Mike Hutton, gear experts Keith Rickaby and Kate Scott and bouldering writer/photographer Jamie Maddison.
Cimber magazine includes guides to climbing and bouldering at UK crags, travel and adventure destination features from around the world, interviews and profiles of top climbers and mountaineers, stunning photography, training masterclasses, advice and information on skills, technique and safety, reviews and advice on essential climbing gear and equipment. The magazine occasionally also includes free supplements for readers such as 'The Alpine Climber' and 'Winter Skills'.
The website was relaunched in June 2007, and now includes a photo and video gallery for readers to upload shots and footage of their latest adventures, blogs, a forum plus exclusive web articles and features in addition to those in the magazine.
Climber magazine is published by Warners Group Publications plc of Bourne, Lincolnshire.
