Company history

ClickTime began in 1997 under the direction of Harold and Alex Mann as a division of Mann Consulting, a San Francisco-based IT consulting firm. After clients were demanding solutions not being adequately handled by existing software products or internet web sites, ClickTime spun off as a separate entity in 1999. Since then, ClickTime has grown to serve over 1000 businesses in 55 countries, including both small companies and members of the Fortune 500 such as Hewlett Packard, Google, Ernst and Young, Citi, and Visa. In 2007, ClickTime logged its 100,000,000th hour.[3] [4] [5]

Software

ClickTime Web Timesheet, the company’s flagship product, offers online timesheet systems and expense services for time tracking, billing, cost accounting, and payroll applications. The software provides for offline time tracking, customizable reports and data-sharing for legacy applications. ClickTime Web Timesheet integrates with Quickbooks and connects to other major payroll, HR and accounting software through XML data export. The time tracking software is DCAA compliant and operates as a SaaS vendor. ClickTime is broken into the following main features.

Tracking Billable Time/Billing Rates

ClickTime offers reporting functions that track billable time and billing rates.

Expense Tracking

ClickTime allows employee expense reporting, and tracks type, description, amount, date, and payment method for reimbursement, invoicing, or cost-accounting purposes. Expenses can also be attributed to a particular project for summary reports of expenses by project. ClickTime also allows expense sheet approval and will generate reports by project, job, or person.

Timesheet Approvals

ClickTime offers timesheet approvals that automatically generate a secure audit trail. Timesheets can be edited by the manager before approval, and ClickTime can also prevent the submission of incomplete timesheets or automatically show employees who have not submitted a timesheet. ClickTime also has the option to automatically notify managers that timesheets are waiting for approval.

Handheld Access

Mobile users can access a specially optimized interface by going to www.clicktime.com on their mobile device. ClickTime mobile is designed for use over mobile networks (including 3g), and Wi-Fi, and allows wireless time and expense editing.

Time Off Module

The Time Off Module tracks, reports, and accrues non-worked time for use by management, employees, and human resources. The Time Off Module can be configured with employee-specific accrual rates that automatically accumulate each month.

Audit Trail/DCAA Compliance

ClickTime automatically logs all changes to labor and cost accounting data, facilitating compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). ClickTime has a DCAA Compliance setting which tracks user explanations for data modifications.

Report Builder

ClickTime offers 40+ preconfigured instant reports that support common needs to view time and expense data. Report Builder supplements these instant reports by allowing extensive manager customization for more targeted views of employee time. Customized settings allow a user to slice, aggregate, filter, and chart data. ClickTime reports also export to common spreadsheets and reporting tools, and can integrate with various software applications.

Quickbooks Connector

Quickbooks Connector exports data directly to Quickbooks Pro, Premier, and Enterprise (2005–2010).

Advanced Job Estimation

Job estimation allows managers to compare estimated job values with actual job values. Continuous data updates help managers refine job estimates using a choice of job estimation models. [6]

Review Manager is an outsourced client review tool, providing for the sharing of PDF, Microsoft Office and video.
