Booth was a right-handed batsman.
Booth first played first-class cricket for Cambridge University from 1862-1865. His debut first-class match was against the Marylebone Cricket Club, a team he would later play for between 1871-1886. Booth also went on to play for Hampshire, who he captained from 1875 to 1878. Booths final first-class match was for the Marylebone Cricket Club against Oxford University in 1886.
Booth died at Hundleby Grange, Lincolnshire in 1926 at the age of 84.
