Clarence Addison Brimmer, Jr.

Clarence Addison Brimmer, Jr. (born July 11, 1922) is a United States federal judge in the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming.

Born in Rawlins, Wyoming, Brimmer received a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1944 and was a U.S. Air Force Sergeant from 1945 to 1946. He received a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1947. He was in private practice in Rawlins, Wyoming from 1947 to 1971. He was the state attorney general of Wyoming from 1971 to 1974. He was in private practice in Rawlins, Wyoming in 1974. He was the United States Attorney for the District of Wyoming in 1975.

Brimmer was nominated by President Gerald Ford on July 23, 1975, to a seat vacated by Ewing Thomas Kerr. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on September 15, 1975, and received his commission on September 16, 1975. He served as chief judge from 1986-1992. He assumed senior status on September 27, 2006.

Clarence's son Philip A. Brimmer also became a federal judge.^[1]
