Programming
Cinémoi screens French movies for an English-speaking audience. All films are consequently subtitled, unless the original audio of the film is in English.
Films are programmed across all genres and periods, from silent films to titles recently released in cinemas. The channel also curates seasons on specific directors, actors and themes, such as François Truffaut, Daniel Auteuil and femme fatales.
The channel does not carry advertising and screens its films without interruption. The channel logo does not appear on the feature films, although it is displayed during documentaries, interviews and segments between films.
Cinémoi has a production arm, which creates interviews with personalities from French and international cinema, TV, culture and the arts for broadcast on the channel. It has also broadcast shows from the Cannes Film Festival in 2009 and 2010.
In 2011, Cinémoi will diversify its content to lifestyle programmes (Fashion, Wine and Life style).[1]
History

On 6 August 2009, the channel number was changed to 343,[3] in the Movies section of Sky’s EPG as opposed to its previous placement in the International Section, owing to its subtitled content and all programmes accessible to an English-speaking audience.
On 1 December 2010, Cinémoi soft-launched on Virgin Media channel 445 for a 2 month period prior to encryption on 1 February 2011.[4]
