Christie Downs railway station is on the Noarlunga Centre railway line in the southern Adelaide suburbs, 28.9 km by railway from Adelaide Railway Station.

The Christie Downs extension

The original Christie Downs station was opened in January 1976. It was approximately 29.7 km from Adelaide and consisted of a platform adjacent to what is now the Up track. The platform has since been demolished, but the footpath leading to it can still be seen.

At the same time a new timetable was introduced which had trains stopping at all stations to Brighton, backed up by semi-fast trains that continued to Christie Downs.

Noarlunga Centre

In April 1978 Noarlunga Centre and the current Christie Downs stations were opened, and the original Christie Downs station was subsequently demolished.
