Christianity in Tripura

Christianity is the religion of many thousands of residents of Tripura. With Tripura being a state of Northeastern India it might be expected to be a large proportion of its population. This decidedly is not the case. Khowai-Ompi-Kamalpur Baptist Association and Sadar North Baptist Association belong to Tripura Baptist Christian Union. A Roman Catholic Diocese of Agartala, a suffragan diocese of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Shillong, exists. The Reformed Presbyterian Church, North Eastern India is present in the state. [1] There is Persecution of Christians in India. Violence is used by some Christians in order to make Tripura an independent country. This is the Tripura rebellion of National Liberation Front of Tripura, All Tripura Tiger Force and others.
