Satellite Syndicated Systems

Satellite Syndicated Systems

Satellite Syndicated Systems was a company based in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the 1980s that provided distribution services of data for American teletext and other data services via communications satellite. They provided data distribution for the Electra teletext service which was carried on the VBI of Superstation WTBS (now TBS Superstation). They also distributed the data via satellite for the cable TV channel Genesis Storytime starting in 1983.

In 1985, they purchased the Satellite Program Network and renamed it as Tempo Television, which was then purchased from Satellite Syndicated Systems by NBC in 1988, which then relaunched it in 1989 as CNBC.
