Chris Stigall

Chris Stigall is a conservative radio talk show host. He hosted the KCMO (AM) Morning Show with Chris Stigall in the Kansas City market, and will be hosting a similar show on WPHT in the Philadelphia market beginning in 2011.

Stigall also fills in for nationally syndicated hosts Michael Savage, Rusty Humphries, Lou Dobbs, Fred Thompson, Jerry Doyle and Steve Malzberg. He is also a contributor to Andrew Breitbart's website BigHollywood and the Platte County Landmark.

When Cumulus assumed control of KCMO (AM) in mid-2006, then local morning host Van Patrick quit on air, apparently upset over the firing of his producer as well as many others in the building. On September 12, the station began a new morning show, hosted by Chris Stigall.

A graduate of Northwest Missouri State University, in college, Chris studied comedy writing and television production as an intern with “Late Show with David Letterman” in New York. Professionally, Stigall has also served as a representative and press assistant to U.S. Congressman Sam Graves (MO-06) as well as working in Kansas City radio since 1999.

In 2009, Kansas City mayor Mark Funkhouser selected Stigall as the master of ceremonies at the Mayor’s Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.[1]

On November 18, 2010, WPHT in Philadelphia announced that Stigall will be anchoring its morning show focused on "local and national policy, the economy, the biggest news stories and issues that affect all Philadelphians, coupled with interviews of the day’s news and decision makers."[2]

Controversy

While filling in for Lou Dobbs, Stigall received national attention for his comments about President Barack Obama's address to school children. The New York Times quoted Stigall and helped create more controversy for the talk show host.[3]

In March of 2011, Stigall became heavily involved in the Delaware County priest trial. Stigall thought The Philadelphia Inquirer was heavily biased in its coverage and one priest and his lawyer declared their innocence on Stigall's morning talk show.[4]
