Chokkad is a town situated in south-east of Nilambur in Malappuram district of Kerala, India. Town is a located on the state high way between Nilambur and Kalikavu. It is 13 km from Nilambur railway station and 7 km from Kalikavu. Chokkad has a government middle school and two privately managed schools, two mosques and three churches, a post office (PIN 679355) and a commercial bank (South Malabar Gramin Bank). The first Church in Chokkad was founded in 1975 after an evangelical convention held in the area in 1974.

The village is on the bed of two rivers– Kottappuzha and Chokkadanpuzha and the hills near to it has a tribal settlement made by the government, rehabilitating the native hill tribes. Chokkad hills has the adjacent tribal colony has native people groups such as, Ernadan, Muthan, and Paniyan.
