China Welfare Institute

The China Welfare Institute (CWI) (中国福利会) which grew out of the China Defense League was founded by Soong Ching-ling in Hong Kong on June 14, 1938. She was then the chairman of the Central Committee. The League rallied people who had deep love for peace and justice.

Today,the institute focuses on maternity and child healthcare, preschool education, out-of-school education, and children's culture.
