Chilean brigantine Araucano

Araucano was the 217[1] tons and 18-gun brigantine Columbus built 1817. She was bought in New York by the envoy of the Chilean government in the United States Manuel Hemanegildo Aguirre for $33,000.

In November 1817 she was sent, fully manned and carryng a cargo of munition, under the command of Captain Charles W. Worster to Valparaíso where she arrived in Juni 1818.[2](p20)

Ch.W. Worster had commanded the privateer Saratoga during the War of 1812.
