Children's Service Society

The Children's Service Society is Utah's oldest non-denominational non-profit organization. Started in 1884, The Children's Service Society has always been working to improve the lives of children and families. Today the Children's Service Society has four programs that provide useful resources to both families and children.

"Grandfamilies, Relatives at parents" provides crisis intervention, advocacy, informational/support groups, outreach for families parenting the children of relatives and family activities.

"Child Care Resource and Referral~Metro (CCR&R~Metro)" provides free child care referral services for families, and recruitment and training for child care providers.

"Utah Parents as Teachers (UPAT)" provides personal home parenting assistance to families, child development and health screenings, and kindergarten readiness resources to help get kids ready for school and ready to learn.

"Adoption Related Services" provide domestic and international home studies, confidential intermediary search and reunion services for adoptees (placed through the services of Children's Service Society) and biological family members, and training for medical, clinical and community members.
