Life and career

As a Secondary 4 student at St. Francis' Canossian College, G worked as a part-time disc-jockey at Commercial Radio. Her first show was a collaboration with Softhard. After graduating from Secondary 5, she became a full-time disc-jockey with Commercial Radio FM 90.3. At 17 years old, she hosted the programme, ‘Gee See Goo Bi - I am Underaged’. This programme which was aired during off-peak hours attracted a unprecedented number of audiences.

G was the creator of the radio programme, "Gee See Goo Bi Family", which characters 'Fu-Wing' and 'Little Fu Sister' grew in popularity. G then went on to create other programmes, including "First Love Noodles", "Five Star Family", "Big Village", "36 Ideas".

Interestingly, it remains a mystery as to who voiced "Fu-Wing" and "Little Fu Sister" in the "Gee See Goo Bi Family" programmes. It is rumoured that G voiced all five characters of the programme (including characters - Miss Jing, the Neither-Male-Nor-Female, and the Man with the Hoarse Voice). G has never publicly clarified this mystery. The "Gee See Goo Bi Family" comic was created by Wu-Shang-Hao.。[1]

Film and video productions

G has participated in many movie and video production projects, and has also released books and comic books. Together with the Pacific Century CyberWorks-owned Now.com.hk, G has also written and produced an Internet drama series, "20 30 Dictionary".

G's screenplays have garnered several award nominations from both Hong Kong and overseas organisations.

In 2011, G participated in the acting and directing of a creative short film, "Love More".[2]

'Fu-Wing', 'Little Fu Sister' and other creations

In February 2008, G collaborated with Taiwan-based FunTown and a South Korean developer RHAON to launch an online game featuring "Fu-Wing", and "Little Fu Sister". It was named "RUNonline" (It was known as "HiYo Run Towards the Sky" in Taiwan).

In recent years, G has written a column titled "Fu-Wing's Writings" represents in Fu-Wing's name. This column was featured in the Hong Kong-based "Milk" magazine.

Famine30

At February 2008, G was selected to be the World Vision Famine Star, where along with Sammi Cheng and Gigi Leung, she participated in a charity trip to Laos.

On April 19 2008, which was incidentally the day of Famine 30, G released her book of selected prose, "What is Apple in Chinese?". She later held a book-reading-club function at Miramar Hotel on April 25, 2008.

Quit from CRHK

On June 19, 2008, G announced that she would be leaving CRHK in two weeks' time, and that it would only be for a short break. In the meantime, she would continue her art projects and probaby return to school. However, she was still undecided about her specific direction. [3]

On June 30, 2008, fellow deejays Leung Tak-Fai and Wong Tin-Yee spoke of Cheuk's departure emotionally.[4]

On July 4, 2008, G hosted the last instalment of "Torture University ". The following day, she hosted the final episode of "Alabama" before her official departure from the CRHK.

On July 3, 2009, G announced on the programme, "Talk of the town", she said that she was headed to London to studying an art-related course.

On July 5, 2009, G flew to London where she took up an art course at Goldsmiths College, University of London.

She returned[5] and announced that she was settling [6] in Hong Kong in September 2010.[7]

Wikipedia Page Issue

On June 26, 2008, in her programme "Torture University", G brought up the topic of her own Wikipedia page. She also joked that the page should be titled "The Most Beautiful Female Artiste of Them All". This led to some irresponsible editing on G's Wikipedia page and resulted in the Wikipedia moderators' decision to close the page. [8]

The issue ended on July 30, 2008 when the ban on her Wikipedia page was lifted.

Attempted suicide

On October 18, 2006, G attempted suicide with medication at her then home at Kowloon City. The alleged reason was the resulting grief from mourning her mother, who had passed away due to cancer. Her boyfriend discovered her attempted and contacted the police. After being certified to be out of any life threatening situation, G stayed on in the intensive care unit. The police subsequently found two suicide notes, which revealed her unhappiness.

Two weeks later, G returned to work and continued to host radio programmes. She also returned to film production work then. In 2007, G directed two short films, "Lost & Found" and "Homo Sapiens". In the same year, she released two books, "Confucius Enemy" and "Is a bit tricky".
