Chemi Shalev (born 1953) is an Israeli journalist and political analyst.
Chemi Shalev is a US foreign correspondent for Haaretz newspaper. In 2007-2011, Shalev was deputy editor and diplomatic commentator for the Israel Hayom newspaper. He has covered Israeli politics and the Middle East peace process as a diplomatic correspondent and political analyst for the Jerusalem Post, Davar and Ma'ariv.
Shalev's columns on Israeli affairs have been quoted in major newspapers throughout the world. He has been a guest-commentator on CNN, Sky, CBS and other television networks during times of Middle East crisis and was interviewed by CNN during Israel's national elections. Shalev was the Jerusalem correspondent for the New York-based Jewish weekly, The Forward. [1] In 2007, he returned from a four-year stay in Australia, where he was associate editor of the Australian Jewish News.
