Lambin attended Cypress Falls High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He was selected by the New York Mets in the 34th Round (1017th overall) of the 2002 Major League Baseball Draft.
Lambin played in the Mets' minor league organization from 2002 through 2006. He was in the Florida Marlins minor league system in 2007 and 2008. In 2009, Lambin played for the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan's Pacific League. Lambin returned to the United States in 2010, where he played for the Washington Nationals organization. He was named the "Top Star" for the International League in the 2010 Triple-A All-Star Game.
